Hello, I’m Hazel, a playful and sweet American Bulldog mix with a white and tan coat and a big smile. I love to have fun and cuddle with my people. I’m house and crate trained. I get so excited to go for walks, and I’m very strong which means I can pull hard, so I need an owner who can handle me and teach me some manners. I’m good with other dogs, especially mellow ones. We don’t know how I feel about cats, but I can be cat-tested if you'd like. I have a lot of energy and I like to run around and play with balls. Because of my size, any kids in the home would have to be older (over 10). But I also like to relax and nap in my own space. I have a large kennel where I feel comfortable and safe. I don’t like to be outdoors for too long and prefer to be inside with my people. I’m afraid of being abandoned, so I don’t like to go far from home or my people. I’m a gentle giant who just wants to be loved and have a lot of potential to be a great dog.
Ideal Home
An owner who can handle a strong dog and teach her manners. Older children (10+) are welcome. She prefers to be indoors with her people and is afraid of being abandoned, so she doesn't like to go far from home or her people.
Ongoing Health
Hazel has some digestive issues and requires a special diet of lamb and rice.
Training & Support
Hazel needs continued training and manners to help with her pulling on walks. She can chew on things when unsupervised, so she needs to be crated when not being watched.
