Kash with a K

Meet Kash with a K, a joyful, resilient Great Dane whose difficult medical past is behind him. After recovering from a severe leg wound, bone infection, and knee injury, Kash is ready to be someone’s goofy, loving best friend.

At around two years old, Kash is affectionate, athletic, playful, and wonderfully social. He loves people and gets along beautifully with other dogs. He currently lives with three Danes and enjoys energetic play, wrestling, zoomies, and full-contact fun. His ideal canine companion would be a playful large-breed dog or another Dane who can match his enthusiasm.

Kash has done well with children he has met, though his size and exuberance could accidentally knock over very young toddlers. He is potty trained, loves companionship, and is accustomed to staying in an indoor walk-in kennel setup while his foster dad works. He may need an introduction to a traditional crate. His knee may always look a little rough, and he may have a slight hitch in his step, but it does not slow him down.

Ideal Home

• A securely fenced yard is required.
• A home with another playful large-breed dog or Dane would suit Kash well.
• Dane-savvy children may be a good fit; very young toddlers could be vulnerable to accidental bumps from his enthusiastic greetings.

Ongoing Health

Kash previously endured a serious surgical wound, severe bone infection, and knee injury after likely being hit by a car. After months of healing, he is ready for his next chapter, though his knee may remain visibly rough and his gait may include a slight hitch.

Training & Support

• Potty trained.
• Comfortable in an indoor walk-in kennel setup.
• Traditional crate comfort is not yet known.
• Neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Transportation

Approved adopters must pick up Kash in person from his foster parent in Pensacola, Florida. The rescue does not provide transport.
