About Goose
Are you my person? My name is Goose, and I'm a five-year-old goofball who's overcome a lot to find my forever family. I'm currently living in a foster home where I'm showered with love, but I dream of having a family and a home all my own. I'm working hard on becoming the best family member I can be!
While I'm still learning about cats, I'm making great progress and believe with slow introductions and kind but firm guidance, we can be friends. I absolutely adore other dogs, but I need to live with pups who are super dog-friendly. I'd be happy as an only dog or with one laid-back canine sibling. Sadly, grumpy dogs aren't my cup of tea, and it's best we go our separate ways. I have a special place in my heart for children over five; they love my kisses, and I cherish their gentle pats. I'm a big boy at around 60lbs and sometimes forget my size, but with plenty of exercise and playtime, I settle in quickly. My absolute favorite things are toys and treats – I'll do anything for a tasty snack! I already know how to sit, shake, and lay down. I'm a master of "cat and mouse" with my toys, and I tend to stay close, doing exceptionally well off-leash with minimal distractions. I express my joy with a deep, playful "voice" and love to playfully rub and roll on my favorite blankets. When my foster mom comes home, I get very excited, but I quickly settle down after sharing my happy greetings. I'm a pro at crate training and know all the potty rules. With a comfy bed and toys, my crate is a happy place for me when my foster mom is out. I'm also a fantastic snuggler and love belly rubs, praise, and positive reinforcement. I sleep soundly on the bed, which makes me feel safe, and it means less time in my crate. While I love being near my people, I'm perfectly content playing with toys or napping independently on my own dog bed. I walk well on a leash, though I start with some excited pulling – I'm working hard to improve! I've blossomed so much in my foster home, and my progress has surprised everyone. I used to be anxious, but now I know I'm safe and loved. In just a few weeks, I've become a different, more confident dog, and I'm so proud! My foster mom always leaves my crate door open, giving me the freedom to come and go as I please. She believes I'd thrive in a home with a large play area, lots of toys, and yummy treats. I absolutely love car rides, and drive-thrus are the most amazing treat dispensers ever! I do have a sensitive stomach, so new foods should be introduced slowly to prevent tummy upset. I even enjoyed calming treats initially to help me settle, but I don't need them anymore. My foster mom wishes she could keep me, but she needs to make room to save other dogs like me. I promise to be your loyal, loving, and always-there friend. Dogs truly are special, and if you give me a chance, we'll have a wonderful life together. My foster mom can't believe how much I've blossomed, and she knows you'll think I'm just as amazing as she does.
