Shelby is a happy, goofy, and affectionate 6-month-old spayed female Shepherd/Hound/Terrier mix. She currently weighs 39 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown, with a distinctively long body. Shelby and her mom and sister were rescued from a shelter in San Antonio, Texas, where they had been strays. She has truly blossomed in her foster home and is now ready to find her forever family. Shelby is a curious girl who loves to learn and is deeply connected to her people, bringing warmth and joy into every room.
Ideal Home
Shelby would thrive in an active home that enjoys a dog's companionship and attention, is patient with puppy training, and wants an affectionate family member. She wants to be included in all family activities, whether it's hiking, walking, playing in the yard, or simply spending quality time together.

Shelby is a healthy puppy. Her adoption donation covers the cost of her transport to Washington.
Training & Support
Shelby is still in the process of house training and has made significant progress. She is expected to master this quickly with consistency. She sleeps through the night in her crate and tolerates it, but she prefers to be near her people and other dogs. Shelby should not be crated excessively, as she is social and happiest when included in daily life. She is still learning basic training and has already learned to sit and walks nicely on a harness. She loves sniffing and would likely enjoy scent-based activities or classes. She occasionally barks at passing people or dogs from the car window.

Transportation
Shelby is currently in a foster home in Washougal, Washington, and is available for meet and greets! Transports run every few weeks, and she will be on the next available transport once approved.
