Lily

Lily is a beautiful 1-year-old Lab and border collie mix who weighs approximately 50 lbs. She's a smart, playful, and energetic pup who loves to learn and explore. Lily truly shines once she feels safe and secure. She is affectionate, loyal, and deeply devoted to her people, forming a strong bond with those who are patient and kind. While she can be a bit shy and nervous in new environments and around new people, especially men, she warms up beautifully with calm, consistent interactions and positive reinforcement like treats. Lily is doing wonderfully in her foster home, gaining confidence and becoming more comfortable with men. She's curious, enjoys sniffing, and will even lick hands if not approached forcefully.

Ideal Home

Lily is looking for a home with a friendly, confident resident dog who can act as a canine role model. This is a requirement to help her feel secure and navigate new experiences. She would likely do well with older children. Lily needs an adopter who is patient, kind, and committed to helping her blossom at her own pace.

Ongoing Health

Lily is up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed.

Training & Support

Lily is still learning that the world isn't so scary and is working on building her confidence. She thrives with positive outlets for her energy, such as walks, playtime, and enrichment activities. Lily is learning to be comfortable with men and responds well to gentle introductions and treats. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken, and all dogs are working on crate training.

Lily is currently in a DC area foster home. She can be met this Sunday (7/12) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Kensington, MD (5154 Nicholson Ln, Kensington, MD 20895). Transport options may be available.
