About Cher

Meet Cher! This beautiful 1-year-old, 30 lb Sheltie/Shepherd mix arrived as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. While she's still learning to trust, Cher is a loyal, loving, and active companion with a shy exterior. She forms deep bonds with her people and needs a patient home that will provide her with the time, space, and support to build confidence. Cher would do best in a standalone home outside the city, away from apartments or condos. Once she settles in, her fun and active side emerges, making her a great adventure buddy for someone willing to invest in her. She'll benefit from continued leash training, confidence-building, and positive socialization. Cher thrives as an only dog to focus on her decompression and bonding. As a herding breed mix, she can be a little bossy and enjoys herding other dogs, so a knowledgeable home that understands her breed tendencies is ideal. Preferably, Cher should be in a home without young children, as she needs a calm, predictable, and structured environment to gain confidence. If you're looking for a devoted best friend and have a soft spot for sensitive working breeds, Cher might be the perfect addition to your family! Cher is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed.

Ideal Home

Cher would thrive in a patient home that will give her the time, space, and support she needs to decompress and build confidence at her own pace, preferably in a standalone home outside of the city – no apartments or condos. She would do best as an only dog and in a home without young children, as she needs a calm, predictable, and structured environment. A dog-savvy home that understands herding breed tendencies is also preferred.

Ongoing Health

Cher is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed.

Training & Support

Cher can be shy and shut down when meeting new people or experiencing new environments. She needs continued work on leash skills, confidence-building, and positive socialization. She can also be a little bossy at times and enjoys herding other dogs.
