Eska is a 2-year-old Husky who is looking for her forever family. Eska arrived with us after being seized by MAPAQ along with many other dogs from a dog sledding operation. Shortly after, she gave birth to 6 puppies. We urgently brought them from another shelter to ensure they were safe and calm in a foster home.
At first, Eska was terrified. She took great care of her puppies, but she was so frightened that she didn't know how to react to human attention. After about a week, she began to open up and grew closer and closer to her foster family. Her past likely consisted of being tied to a cabin and struggling to survive.
Now that her puppies are grown and most have moved on to other foster homes or have been adopted, Eska is ready to find her forever family. She can live with other dogs, which will help her adapt to a new environment. Eska is curious and playful, and she will need someone who is home most of the time, as she doesn't like being left alone for long periods! She is just now learning what dog life is all about and is behaving like a puppy, even though she is 2 years old! She needs a patient family who will give her the time she needs to grow and integrate. She is very quick and needs a fully fenced yard. She can be a flight risk if stressed, but with time, her adorable face will win you over!
