Tessy

Tessy is a young, 2-year-old Lab mix, weighing around 38 lbs, who is searching for her happily ever after! She's a sato, a dog from Puerto Rico, and is eager for adventures, sniffy walks, and park romps with her forever family. Tessy is a bit shy and needs patient and loving adopters who can help her feel more comfortable in new environments. She promises to return your love and loyalty with a full heart!

Ideal Home

Tessy needs a home with a welcoming resident dog who can show her the ropes and help her learn how to be a dog in a new environment. She would also benefit from attending dog school to show off her smarts. Because dogs from Puerto Rico go through a major transition, her adopters must be very committed to socialization.

Ongoing Health

Tessy has been treated for heartworms, which are not contagious to people or other pets. Heartworm disease is serious if left untreated, but after treatment, dogs can lead full, active, and normal lives. Tessy has completed her required rest period post-treatment and should be kept on monthly heartworm preventative.

Training & Support

Tessy is working on her crate training. It is not guaranteed that she is housebroken.
