Buddy

Hi, I'm Buddy! I'm a handsome 4-year-old guy, weighing around 80 lbs, with a perfect blend of German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois in my DNA. I'm an active and enthusiastic explorer who loves car rides and sniffing out all the interesting scents the world has to offer. I walk pretty well on leash, though I'm still working on my leash manners, especially when there's a particularly enticing smell I just can't ignore!

Ideal Home

I'm looking for a gentle but confident leader who can guide me with a firm, yet kind hand. I can be a little sensitive, so harshness isn't my style. I'm generally good with other dogs, though I might let one know if they're giving me a vibe I don't like. I'd prefer to skip dog parks; they can be a bit overwhelming for me. While I'm friendly, I can be a bit reserved when meeting new people and prefer not to be mobbed by strangers. I do warm up to girl humans quickly, and while boy humans can make me a little nervous at first, I'm okay once I get to know them. I'm not the best fit for very young children, as I can get a bit mouthy when I'm excited during play – it's my Malinois side coming out, but it's not suitable for little ones. I am absolutely not a cat or small critter person, and while small dogs have been okay, my prey drive is strong, and I am a serious squirrel chaser! I'm not suited for a couch-dweller; I need someone who wants to teach me and bond deeply.
