Rachel is a gorgeous 6.5-year-old Border Collie/Lab mix who has returned to us because her needs and her family's availability grew apart. She's a smart girl who loves to have a job to do, whether it's playing with a toy, interacting with her dog friends, or going for a walk. Rachel sports a permanent smile and thrives on attention, though she can be a bit of a sneaky snack hunter, so keep those garbage cans secure! She enjoys relaxing with her pack after playtime and is generally good with other dogs, though she might need a little help understanding subtle social cues. Rachel is eager to please her humans and loves to cuddle.
Ideal Home
Rachel would do best in a home where someone is home a lot to devote time and energy to her exercise, training, and to give her the attention and affection she craves. She'd also thrive with another dog or two in the home and loves kids. She is not a fan of being alone or crated. An experienced and patient handler is preferred, as Rachel doesn't handle changes easily.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned in the listing.
Training & Support
Rachel is house-trained. While she has made great progress with leash training and has attended group classes with success, it could still use some fine-tuning. She is highly food-motivated, which is a great asset for training. She can be crated, but it's not her preference, and she is currently in a high-security crate.
