Barbarita AKA Jackie

Hi there! My name is Barbarita, but you can call me Jackie! I'm a super friendly and happy girl who was rescued in Puerto Rico before making my way to safety. You'd never guess that I've been through a lot, including an attack by a group of dogs that left me with numerous scars and over 30 stitches. But despite it all, I'm truly full of joy and ready to find my forever family!

Ideal Home

I love to play with other small dogs and would be a fantastic companion for younger children to play with. I'd be a great choice for a first-time dog owner! While I'd enjoy a large yard, I'd also be perfectly happy in a smaller environment like an apartment. I can adapt to either a busy or a quiet lifestyle. I enjoy greeting new visitors, though I can sometimes be a little protective of my people and my space.

Ongoing Health

I have some scars from past experiences, but they don't slow me down one bit! I've been spayed and vaccinated.

Training & Support

I could use some continued training, especially with potty-training, but I'm a quick learner and will pick everything up fast once I'm in a loving home.
