Meet Herald, a 5-year-old, 70-pound neutered male who's been through a lot and truly blossomed in foster care. Herald, also known as Harry or Hare-Bear, is incredibly low-energy and loves nothing more than being a professional couch potato, often needing a gentle nudge to go outside. His favorite spot is curled up with his people, soaking in all the closeness.
Herald is exceptionally quiet, rarely joining in with barking dogs, and prefers peace and calm. He's a master at avoiding drama and politely keeps his distance from dogs with stronger personalities. He lives harmoniously with other dogs, showing excellent canine manners and respectfully backing away from any growls. He would be happy with a calm dog companion or as the sole canine in the home. However, cats are a firm no for Herald.
Ideal Home
Herald would thrive in a home where he can have a patient adopter who understands the importance of decompression. He needs time and space to adjust to a new environment and routine. Once he feels safe, his true, deeply affectionate and gentle soul will shine. He bonds closely with his humans and loves to be near them. A soft couch, a predictable routine, and loving people are all he asks for in return for quiet companionship, endless snuggles, and a calm, loving presence.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned in the listing.
Training & Support
Herald is fully house-trained and crate-trained (cookies are a great motivator!). He settles nicely when crated. He needs an adopter who understands decompression and is willing to give him the time and space to adjust to a new home.
