Wendall

Wendall is a 46-pound, 1.5-year-old Hound/Labrador Retriever mix with soulful eyes and a heart that’s learning how good life can be. He was rescued from a hoarding situation in Barnwell, SC, where he lived outside his entire life with his mother Darlene. She lived on the chain for 12 years alongside her children and has now found her forever family—and now it is Wendall's turn. Each day, Wendall grows more confident and trusting, discovering that people can be kind and that comfort is something he deserves. He’s dog-friendly and feels his best when he has other dogs around—having a canine companion helps him relax and shine. Wendall is also wonderful with older kids and cats, making him a gentle, easygoing addition to a calm home. This sweet boy has a quiet resilience and a loving spirit that’s emerging more and more with every wag of his tail. Wendall is ready to find a family who will give him the patience, friendship, and love he’s waited so long for.

Ongoing Health

Wendall tested positive for Heartworm disease upon rescue and has since completed his treatment.
