Rocky

Rocky is a special guy who needs a patient and gentle home, where he can have his space when he needs it. He's a 4-5 year old, 10 lb Yorkshire Terrier mix with a heart of gold beneath a sometimes tough exterior. Rocky is crate trained but prefers not to go in it, sometimes hiding and growling if encouraged. He's pee pad trained with occasional accidents. Rocky loves to be close to his people, enjoying sit-ups and rub downs, but can snarl if he's feeling nervous. He'd especially benefit from someone with a gentle demeanor, as he acts tough but isn't. Rocky is clever and knows how to use a doggie door. He will viciously attack a broom, so keep that out of sight! He does not like to be scolded or if someone talks mean to him. Rocky is not great with other dogs, even in a multi-dog household, and will growl at them.

Ideal Home

A home with a fenced yard is highly preferred. Due to his sensitivity, we would not recommend Rocky for a home with children. His compatibility with cats is unknown.

Ongoing Health

Rocky is currently on Prozac.

Training & Support

Rocky needs a patient adopter who understands his need for personal space. He can be nervous and may snarl when feeling insecure. He has a strong dislike for brooms and does not respond well to scolding or harsh tones.
