Okapi

Okapi is an approximately 4-month-old mix of Herding breed and Pit Bull. She's a survivor, having overcome pneumonia as a tiny puppy, along with the tragic loss of most of her litter. Her journey continues with a recent diagnosis of a severely fractured growth plate in her rear leg, requiring surgery for repair. After her procedure, Okapi will need a quiet foster home where she can safely recover and heal for approximately 4 to 6 weeks. X-rays will be retaken in 4 weeks to monitor her healing progress. We are hoping to find a loving temporary foster to provide Okapi with the soft landing she so deserves after all she's endured.

Ongoing Health

Okapi recently underwent surgery to repair a severely fractured growth plate in her rear leg. This involved pins being inserted in her knee area. Her recovery is expected to take 4 to 6 weeks.

Training & Support

As Okapi is a young puppy, general puppy guidance will be beneficial. Your support in her recovery will be invaluable.

Transporation

Okapi is currently located at Countryside Animal Rescue. Appointments can be made by contacting them. They are open Tuesday - Friday from 11 am to 3 pm by appointment only, and open for drop-ins on Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays.
