Maya is a loving, intelligent, and obedient young lady with a heart full of joy! This sweet Labrador mix is approximately 1 year old and weighs around 30 lbs. She's a bundle of energy who loves to play, go for walks, and especially enjoys receiving affection. Maya can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but with a little warmth and kindness, she quickly melts into your arms. She's a friendly girl who gets along wonderfully with children, other dogs, and even cats! Maya is already crate and leash trained, which is a great head start. She was rescued in March 2024, found with her six siblings in a field.
Ideal Home
Maya would thrive in a home with owners who have a fenced backyard and an active lifestyle, enjoying outdoor activities. A family with an open mind about the needs and behaviors of rescued animals, coupled with experience in dog behavior and training, would be ideal. She requires high tolerance and patience, as rescued animals often need time to adjust and may have a past requiring understanding and education.
Ongoing Health
Maya has completed a comprehensive health protocol, including being spayed, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and microchipped. She has also tested negative for heartworm and tested clear on a 4DX test. She is on monthly preventive medication (Nexgard Spectra) for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are included.
Training & Support
While Maya is crate and leash trained, it's important to note that she is not currently house-trained. Rescued animals may have an adjustment period, and patience and understanding are a must.
