Ramirez

Those puppy dog eyes are hard to resist! Ramirez is a sweet and charmingly goofy boy who finds the kennel environment a bit stressful. He's happiest when snuggling with his favorite people and finds comfort in quiet time. Ramirez is an attentive and affectionate companion who frequently checks in with his people during walks or while relaxing. If you're busy, he's great at entertaining himself with a toy or simply observing your activities.

Ramirez is eager to please and listens well. He already knows how to sit and is learning "down" and "come." He can be a little grabby for treats, which is understandable given he's a bit skinny, but he quickly settles down when reminded. Ramirez appears to be house-trainable, as he typically keeps his kennel clean and does his business outside. In playgroup with other dogs, he's been playfully social, preferring gentler interactions over rowdy ones. Ramirez is estimated to be around one year old and weighs 44 lbs.

Ongoing Health

All dogs receive their DAPPL, Rabies, and Bordatella vaccines. You may be required to get follow-up boosters. All dogs come microchipped and with a Cuyahoga County license. Dogs adopted directly from the kennel need to visit your personal vet within two weeks of leaving.

Training & Support

Ramirez is learning "down" and "come." He can be a little grabby for treats but settles quickly when asked.

• All CITY DOGS posted for adoption are available for direct adoption from the kennel, unless noted otherwise.
• You must schedule a meet with a dog in advance; walk-ins are not currently accepted.
• Please review available dogs online to see if any are a good fit before scheduling a meet.
• To begin the process, visit www.tinyurl.com/meetacitydog and fill out the form. An adoption counselor will contact you to schedule and confirm your meet.
• At the kennel, an adoption counselor will introduce you and your family to adoptable dogs, share information, and discuss successful integration strategies. You are welcome to meet multiple dogs.
• If the dog you adopt is already spayed or neutered, they may go home with you the same day. Otherwise, they can go home after their surgery.
• All available dogs have undergone behavioral and medical assessments. These assessments are a snapshot of the dog's behavior at that time. We cannot guarantee future behavior, temperament, or health once a dog is in your home.
• We do not know the previous home environment of most dogs, as many are strays. Therefore, we cannot guarantee if they are good with children, other pets, or if they are house-trained. Information is based on staff and volunteer observations.
• If you have children or another dog in your home, they must be present for a meet and greet.
