About Aaron
Hi there, I'm Aaron, as in Aaron "Hotch" Hotchner of Criminal Minds, and let me tell you, life has been quite the journey for me so far! My three siblings and I made our way to Minnesota from New Mexico, where things weren't exactly great. Our mom had lots of litters, and we were all living outside, which wasn't very fun. But then Save-A-Bull came to our rescue, and now I get to experience the good life—warm beds, belly rubs, and treats (oh, the treats!).
Now, let's get this out of the way—I am the muttiest of mutts! I may not look like it, but I'm mostly Pittie/Bullie. But that's just the start! I've also got a mix of Chow, Husky, Shar-Pei, Aussie, Shepherd, Chihuahua, American Eskimo, and even Polynesian street dog (yeah, my foster mom had to Google that one). And here's the kicker—I'm 2% Wolf! Yes, you read that right. My foster mom and Aaron (or A-A-RON, as she sometimes calls me) love calling me their "little wolf." She also calls me Prancer because, well, I kinda prance like a reindeer when I'm feeling good on our walks.
Speaking of walks—those are still a little scary for me. See, back in New Mexico, I didn't have much human interaction, so new people and new places make me nervous. My foster mom is working hard to show me that the world isn't so scary and that I can just be a happy, carefree pup. I have a dog sister here, too—she's super confident, and I really look up to her. I'm learning a lot from both of them, and I hope one day I can be just as brave. City noises, fast-moving people, and unexpected sounds make me a little anxious, but I'm getting better every day! Instead of bolting, I just pick up my pace and get outta there like a cool dog.
Oh! I should mention—I take daily medication to help me with my shyness and those scary things in life. It helps me feel a little more at ease as I continue to learn that the world isn't so bad. I also take meds for my allergies, because apparently, even little wolves can have sensitive skin. The good news? I take my meds like a champ (especially if they're wrapped in something tasty!).
Now, let's talk skills—because I've got 'em! I'm fully kennel and potty trained. My foster mom even taught me how to ring the bells on the back door when I need to go outside (which, by the way, makes me feel like royalty). I did try using the bells to ask for extra treats, but my foster mom said she's "not falling for that trick." Worth a shot, right? I know commands like sit, shake, down, look, and leave it! I'll even shake your hand for extra chin scratches because, honestly, chin scratches are my absolute favorite.
Ideal Home
- Someone with patience and lots of encouragement to help me keep building confidence
- A more confident dog sibling would be amazing to help me learn the ropes
- No small children, please! They move fast and make loud noises, which can be a little scary for me
- Maybe a jogging/running buddy? I love running more than walking!
- A big yard would be a dream—playing tag and fetch is so fun!
- Treats (obviously) and a cozy bed—though, truthfully, I'd rather be snuggled up next to you
- And most importantly, someone who loves giving neck and chest scratches!
Ongoing Health
- I take daily medication to help with shyness and anxiety.
- I take medication for allergies.
Training & Support
I know commands like sit, shake, down, look, and leave it! I am fully kennel and potty trained. I have learned to ring a bell to go outside.
I know I might need a little extra patience at first, but I promise I'm worth it. I'm sweet, gentle, and once I warm up to you, I'll be your most loyal and loving companion.
