Bubba Bear is an approximately 3-year-old, 60 lb dog with a face that's guaranteed to make you smile! We believe he might be a Black Lab/Pittie mix, but with rescue, breed and age are always a mystery. What isn't a mystery is how incredibly gentle and easy-going he is. Bubba has a calming presence, often described as a "slow burn" when encountering new people or places. He likes to observe and take things at his own pace before fully settling in. Once comfortable, he's a sweet and affectionate companion who politely asks for pets by gently resting his head in your lap or offering his paw. He's a quiet shadow, always nearby, making any space feel more relaxed. He's also a treat enthusiast, and watching him enjoy them with his limited teeth is ridiculously adorable!
Ideal Home
Bubba would thrive in a calm home that matches his mellow personality. He's a homebody who would be happiest in a residential neighborhood with a fenced yard where he can enjoy a predictable routine and a peaceful environment. Apartment living or life in the middle of a busy city probably wouldn't be his ideal match. He prefers to peacefully coexist with other dogs rather than roughhouse, so a calm, mellow canine companion would be ideal. He has also done well with cats and would likely be fine with them. He prefers not to be crated alone and settles better when he can see his family or canine friends nearby.

Training & Support

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, with drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). A $87 surcharge applies for transportation. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
