This sweet girl, who now goes by Noni, is about 5 years old and weighs around 50 lbs. She was surrendered because she didn't get along with livestock and chickens and needs to be the only pet in her home. Noni is house-trained and absolutely adores her humans, thinking she's a lap dog! She doesn't bark excessively, only to alert you to unusual noises or when someone knocks. You might hear a little whimper if her meal is late or a soft "hmmm, hmmm" if she disapproves of something, but mostly, she's a quiet companion.
Ideal Home
Noni is perfect for a stay-at-home person who doesn't have any other pets. She thrives with one-on-one attention and is known to win over even non-dog people with her gentle and loving nature. She enjoys cuddling on the couch, especially with belly rubs, and respects boundaries when she understands them. She should have a yard for occasional zoomies, especially if you join her or she has company. She can be destructive if left unsupervised and anxious if she can see you outside while she's inside, so a home where she can be with her person is ideal. She also has a high prey drive and cannot be around cats or birds.
Ongoing Health
Noni is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming. She comes with two free vet visits and a $250 health credit with VCA Hospitals (restrictions apply).
Training & Support
Noni is house-trained and can hold it for up to 12 hours. She is mouth-gentle and will allow you to retrieve inappropriate items without issue. She enjoys chew toys and tug-of-war but is known to chew plastic items like TV remotes, so these should be kept out of reach. She pulls strongly on a leash, so a chest harness is recommended over a throat collar. Noni suffers from separation anxiety, which can lead to property damage if she is restrained or crated. While she was crate-trained, she will try to escape if left alone. She has been fine when left free in the house when she trusts her people, but she can become anxious if left alone inside while her person is outside.
