Charlie is a handsome 1½-year-old, 85–90 pound Black Mouth Cur/Lab mix who is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. He was found as a stray and was sadly at risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding at the shelter. He was given a second chance and is now looking for a loving forever home! This energetic boy is crate trained, potty trained, and heartworm negative. Charlie's personality is playful and fun-loving. He absolutely adores playing fetch, especially with tennis balls, and will happily bring them back for another toss, though he does enjoy a good game of keep-away! He also rides well in the car and doesn't struggle with anxiety.
Ideal Home
Charlie would thrive in a home with an active single person, couple, or family who enjoys outdoor adventures. He would make an excellent hiking or running partner! Due to his size and enthusiasm, he'd do best with teenage children or adults, as he might accidentally knock over smaller children in his excitement. He prefers female dogs over males and has not been tested with cats, but his high energy might be too much for a feline friend. He is not to be tied out or be in a home with electric fences.
Ongoing Health
Charlie is up to date on vaccinations and is heartworm negative.
Training & Support
Charlie is a very smart boy and already knows several commands, including heel, sit, come, stay, off (no jumping), and "nice/gentle" when taking treats. He is still working on "down." With his intelligence and eagerness to learn, he could excel in advanced training, agility, or even protection work.
