Raquel is an eleven-month-old Anatolian Shepherd with a heart as big as her impressive frame. She came to us from a difficult hoarding situation with over 40 other dogs. While she was provided with basic care, she missed out on crucial early socialization. Raquel is incredibly sweet and yearns for connection and trust, showing she's actively working on navigating the world around her. New experiences can be a bit much for her initially, so she benefits from a little time to adjust and feel secure.
The great news is that Raquel is a resilient girl who is making wonderful progress and is moving past her initial shyness. She may not be as outwardly confident as some of the other dogs from her past, but she's gaining confidence daily and will continue to blossom in the right environment.
Ideal Home
Raquel needs a home prepared for a large dog, likely exceeding 100 pounds. A securely fenced yard is a must. She is good with other dogs and cats. Due to her sensitive nature and ongoing confidence-building, we recommend a home with children over the age of 10. A confident, friendly dog in the home would be a huge asset, providing Raquel with a role model to learn from and follow.
Ongoing Health
Raquel is a healthy girl with no known health concerns at this time.
Training & Support
Raquel is still learning about indoor living, leash walking, and the routines of a typical home environment. She's not a difficult dog, just inexperienced and a bit uncertain. Patience, a consistent routine, and clear guidance will be instrumental in her continued success.
