Many of the wonderful animals you see on our page are currently in loving foster homes, but some are still at the Granite City Animal Control awaiting their forever families or a foster home to open up. Pound Pets Inc Rescue is always in need of more foster homes to give these deserving animals a safe and comfortable place to stay.
Ideal Home
We are looking for compassionate individuals and families to open their homes and hearts to animals in need.
Ongoing Health
All animals receive comprehensive veterinary care before adoption, including necessary vaccinations, microchipping, and spaying/neutering. Cats are tested for FIV/FeLV, dogs for heartworm, and rabbits receive a wellness check.
Training & Support
While we provide care and enrichment at the animal control, individual training needs will vary. We encourage adopters to provide continued support and training to help their new companions adjust and thrive.
Application Details:
- Applications begin by contacting us through Wags.
- All applicants must complete an adoption application.
- We conduct thorough reference and vet checks. Please inform your references that we will be contacting them.
- Upon approval, an appointment can be scheduled to meet animals at Granite City Animal Control or in foster homes.
- A meet-and-greet and a home visit will be conducted.
- An adoption contract will be signed, and the adoption fee will be paid.
Adoption Fees:
- Rabbits: $85
- Cats: $80
- Kittens: $100
- Dogs: $150
- Puppies Six Months & Under: $200
Barn Cats: We often have feral or semi-friendly cats that would thrive in a barn home. If you can provide shelter and food, there are no adoption fees for barn cats, though donations are welcomed. You will still need to complete the cat adoption form and indicate the number of barn cats you are interested in.
Transportation
Animals are located at Granite City Animal Control in Madison County, Illinois, or in foster homes throughout the area. Transportation to approved adopters can be arranged.
