About Adagio

Adagio and his three siblings were found abandoned, left in a box out in the cold. After being examined by the veterinarian, their birthdate was estimated as October, 2023. Adagio was the smallest in the litter but has turned out to be the biggest. His DNA was completed and he’s quite a mixed bag of wonderful breeds. Adagio, also known as dodgy, dodgy-boy, Gio or G is a scamp that loves, Loves, LOVES food and eats his meals far too fast. We think this may be related to him being the smallest and possibly not getting adequate food when they were abandoned. In his foster home he uses a slow feeder bowl and eats in his crate because if he finishes first he will want to go sample all the other bowls. He will happily share food with his foster siblings. He is very treat motivated but most of his motivation is for the treat, not to perform.

Ideal Home

Adagio would do great in a home with a fenced yard and a person or family that is committed to his continued growth and development and will cherish him for his lifetime. A canine companion would be great too.

Training & Support

Adagio knows sit, down, place, wait, look, NO and leave it-some at higher levels of success. He has excellent recall and rides nicely in the car. He is working on leash training as he is a puller. He is crate trained and will go to his crate when instructed to do so and will pace and whine at the door to let you know he needs to go out to use the bathroom. He can be a bit barky when meeting a new dog but a walk together works wonders. He does like to pester the cats on occasion but never in a harmful way.
