About Bear

Meet Bear, a 10-month-old, 50lb bundle of Black Lab mix energy! Bear and his brother, Blue, have spent their crucial teenage months waiting for their forever families, and we know shelter life just isn't for energetic pups like them. Labs are naturally high-energy dogs, and while our staff and volunteers do their best, they can't quite replicate the endless activity and space a young lab needs. Bear is looking for a home that understands the commitment of time, training, and exercise that comes with a young dog, especially one with his zest for life. He's ready to trade his kennel for a yard where he can truly stretch his legs and engage his mind!

Ideal Home

Bear would thrive in a home with plenty of space to run and fun activities to keep him busy. Because he's still learning his size and can be quite enthusiastic, older children would be the best fit for his family. A home without cats would be ideal, as he has shown signs of prey drive.

Ongoing Health

Bear has received a general health check-up, deworming, and flea and tick treatment. He is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper and rabies. He has also been microchipped. He will be neutered prior to adoption, but if he were too young, a $50 refundable deposit would be required upon proof of sterilization.

Training & Support

Bear is a young, high-energy dog who will benefit from consistent training and a family committed to helping him learn. We encourage adopters to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian within 10 days of adoption to follow a routine veterinary care plan.
