About Milton

Milton is a handsome boy who adapts easily to new situations, including new environments and meeting new people. He enjoys the company of children, but would do best with teenagers. Milton loves to be petted, with his chest being his favorite spot – it instantly calms him down! His favorite games include tag, fetch with a frisbee, and playing with a ball.

He plays well with other dogs and enjoys car rides, though he needs to be securely fastened for his safety as he tends to wander. Milton knows many commands. His minor challenges include leash walking, as he currently pulls quite a bit, and he can be a bit nippy when seeking attention.

Like all Huskies, Milton needs mental stimulation through games and plenty of exercise to burn off his Husky energy.

Milton is a very cuddly and affectionate dog who will do anything to please his human. He is truly a sweetheart on four legs!

Ideal Home

Milton would do best in a home with teenagers.

Ongoing Health

Milton has joint issues and requires ongoing care. This includes:

  • Librela: $97.98 + tax per month (recommended when Milton shows signs of pain)
  • Cartrophen can be started preventatively as soon as possible at a cost of $50 per injection. A 3-month bottle is available for $200, which is beneficial at the start of treatment as he will need 4 doses in the first month, followed by 1 dose per month thereafter.
  • Joint care food is recommended, such as Hill's j/d, Hill's Metabolic + Mobility (which helps limit the risk of being overweight and provides joint protection), or Royal Canin Joint Care.

Please note that once these medications are started, they will have an effect for approximately one month and will need to be administered for life to maintain their benefits.

Training & Support

Milton tends to pull on the leash and can be nippy when seeking attention. As a Husky, he requires significant mental stimulation and physical exercise.
