Summer - URGENT

Summer is a 16-week-old Shepherd mix who is urgently in need of a loving home. She is currently at the Kern County Animal Services - Bakersfield Shelter, and due to an upper respiratory infection, her time there is limited. Summer arrived at the shelter on June 11, 2026, and is eager to leave the crowded conditions behind for a brighter future. The shelter has over 300 animals in metal warehouses with no outdoor runs, making it a high-risk environment for euthanasia due to overcrowding.

Ideal Home

Summer needs a home where she can recover and thrive. Given the stressful shelter environment she's in, a quiet and comfortable space would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Summer is currently being treated for an upper respiratory infection. She is vaccinated but not yet spayed.

Training & Support

Summer is not yet house-trained. Further guidance and patience will be needed to help her adjust to a home environment.

Transporation
