Comet is a 3-year-old, neutered male, hound/retriever mix weighing 56 pounds. This sweet boy, also known as Buddy, was rescued from the streets and saved from the county shelter in San Antonio, Texas. He's now in a loving foster home and ready to find his forever family! Comet has a playful spirit and a good energy level, perfect for someone who enjoys zoomies and outdoor adventures. He's been a great companion to the resident female dog and shows no signs of food or resource aggression. He's also done well with indoor cats and children.
Ideal Home
Comet would be happiest in a home with another dog to play and snuggle with. While he's good with kids, we recommend a home with children aged 10 and up, or those who can understand animal behavior cues, as he has a slight herding instinct. He's a bit wary of men but adores his foster dad, so patience and consistency will help him feel comfortable.
Ongoing Health
Comet is a healthy boy with no known ongoing health conditions.
Training & Support
Comet is fully house, crate, and leash trained. He sleeps soundly in his kennel at night, doesn't pull on the leash, and will alert you when he needs to go potty. He doesn't show signs of separation anxiety, but he does enjoy tasting things when unsupervised, so he's crated when left alone. His one vice is his love for tasting things, so keeping tempting items out of reach will be key.
