Dagger is a playful and affectionate 6.5-month-old Retriever/Pit Bull mix who is estimated to weigh around 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. She has a distinctive dagger-shaped marking on her neck, which is how she got her name. Dagger was rescued with her mother and littermates from a rural area and has since grown up in a loving foster home. She is potty-trained and has a confident and curious personality. Dagger is a bundle of energy, loving to leap and climb, but she also enjoys cuddling and is very affectionate with her people. She is friendly with strangers and enjoys playing with other dogs. Dagger has been around children and has done well.
Ideal Home
Dagger is looking for a home that can provide consistent training and socialization to help her mature into a well-rounded adult. Due to her talent as an escape artist, a secure enclosure is a must. We prefer a home with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor Dagger, but we are open to homes without a resident dog if you have a solid plan for ongoing socialization, such as training classes or playdates. Because she is still young, homes where someone is not routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time are preferred.
Ongoing Health
Dagger is a young, healthy puppy. She has been spayed and is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations.
Training & Support
Dagger is potty-trained and is continuing to learn about the world. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help her thrive. Socialization is key for young dogs like Dagger; safe and positive experiences with new people, places, sounds, and friendly dogs will help build her lifelong confidence.
