Lulu is a gentle soul who is taking shelter life one brave step at a time. Her former family describes her as a chill, friendly dog who did well with children, got along with small dogs, and was perfectly content spending time relaxing at home. While the shelter has been a big adjustment, Lulu has slowly started showing glimpses of that sweet personality. What began as a very nervous dog hiding in the back of her kennel has turned into a girl who now offers little kisses, sits beside people for comfort, and works up the courage to come over for treats and sniffs. Watching Lulu gain confidence has been a reminder that some of the best dogs simply need a little patience. Every day she seems to take another small step forward. She has gone from avoiding people to choosing to sit next to them, from hiding away to greeting familiar faces with wags. Lulu is looking for a family that will let her settle in at her own pace and celebrate those victories with her.
