About Bear

Bear is a 10-month-old, 53-pound Labrador Retriever mix who is overflowing with love, personality, and the boundless energy of youth! This handsome boy is incredibly sweet and friendly, and he gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and children alike. Bear genuinely enjoys being around everyone and is happiest when he has company, whether that's his human family or canine companions.

Ideal Home

Bear thrives in an active home with a family who understands he's still very much a puppy at heart. A home with another playful dog is highly preferred, or a doggy daycare would be an excellent outlet for him to help keep him happy and engaged. Yards MUST be adequately and fully fenced; electric or underground fences are not accepted.

Ongoing Health

Bear is fully vetted, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and kept on heartworm and flea prevention.

Training & Support

Bear is house-trained but not yet crate-trained. He does have food-related resource guarding, which stems from his past experiences. While he is comfortable with his trusted caregiver, he can become protective of his food around other dogs and must be fed separately. This behavior is limited to feeding situations, and with consistent management and positive reinforcement training, it is expected to diminish and disappear. His adopters should be committed to managing feeding times appropriately and continuing positive reinforcement training to help him build confidence and trust.
