Huey Loves Hugs

Huey is a handsome and athletic 2-year-old boy, estimated to be a Labrador mix, who weighs about 56 lbs. He's a smart and motivated dog with expressive ears and legs made for adventure. Huey has been in a loving foster home, where he's learned valuable skills to be a home-life-ready companion. He's house-trained, crate-trained, and enjoys being a quiet shadow, following his people around. Huey thrives with boundaries and responds well to confident leadership. He loves to run and play in a yard and enjoys car rides with the window down.

Ideal Home

Huey would do best in a home with a yard, as apartment living is not his favorite. He prefers a calm and structured environment and is not suited for a fast-paced city life. While he enjoys playing with children, he is not looking for a permanent home with kids. He can be a wonderful companion for visits, but then he'll be ready for his peaceful home life.

Ongoing Health

Huey is up-to-date on all vetting, including vaccinations, deworming, flea and heartworm prevention, and has been spayed and microchipped.

Training & Support

Huey does not like other dogs attempting to eat his food (resource guarding). His foster home has managed this by feeding him and other dogs separately in their crates, which has been very effective. He is house-trained and crate-trained.

Transporation

Huey is available for adoption to anywhere in the US. He can be transported to or near NV, MT, CO, UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and the East Coast. Transport options include a USDA licensed semi-truck for PNW adoptions and a private van or bus for East Coast adoptions, both equipped for comfortable travel with dedicated care.
