Shio

Shio is a 4-year-old super mutt with likely German Pointer in his lineage. He weighs around 40 pounds and is up-to-date on his vaccinations. Shio is a true sweetheart who craves love and attention. He's a pro at indoor manners – never has accidents, is crate trained, respects furniture, and keeps his nose out of food and trash. He knows commands like sit, down, stay, leave it, spin, and jump, and he loves exploring the great outdoors, whether it's the beach or the mountains!

Ideal Home

Shio would thrive in a home with an experienced dog owner who can provide him with the guidance and patience he needs. He is looking for a home with a fully fenced yard. While he has done well with a dog-savvy cat and could potentially live with another dog after a very slow introduction, he is dog-reactive and can be rambunctious, so a highly tolerant canine companion would be best. Due to his nervousness around the unpredictability of younger children, he would not be recommended for a home with very young kids.

Ongoing Health

Shio takes daily medication for anxiety and eats food formulated for sensitive stomachs.

Training & Support

Shio can be fearful of strangers and has shown protective behaviors at home, making him a bit of a "guard dog." He would benefit from a home that can work on these behaviors with him. His dog reactivity improves greatly with regular exposure and training.
