Butters

Butters is a 4-year-old, neutered male Shepherd mix with a heart of gold. He had a difficult start in life, spending his first year in a desert hoarding situation and then enduring two years in boarding after being abandoned by a previous rescue. Despite his past, Butters is a sweet and shy boy who blossoms into a playful giant once he feels comfortable. He absolutely adores chasing balls, splashing in the water, and receiving butt scratches. His love for balls is legendary; they are truly the key to his heart! In the water, he begins with gentle paddles before erupting into joyful, splashing spins.

Ideal Home

Butters would thrive in an active household with patient owners and other high-energy dogs. He needs a home that understands his need for time and patience as he adjusts to new environments.

Training & Support

Due to his past, Butters is still working on building his confidence, especially around new people. He's made great progress and is becoming more interactive daily. He will need continued crate and potty training, but with love and support, he's sure to succeed. He also enjoys playing with squeaky toys and other assorted toys, often booping them with his nose before tossing them in the air.
