Skillet is a 3-year-old bully breed mix powered by equal parts love, zoomies, and questionable spatial awareness. She adores people, lives for playtime, and approaches every day like it’s the best party she’s ever attended. Her “FULL SEND” approach to fun can be a little overwhelming for more introverted dogs. Her playstyle resembles "monster truck rally" so she's not well-matched for dogs who prefer a "casual brunch" vibe. Skillet will reward her people with endless laughs, unwavering loyalty, and enough personality to fill the entire house (and probably the yard too). She was rescued from the high-kill LA Downey animal shelter and arrived to Seattle area foster care on 11/24/24. She was adopted and is currently residing with her adopters until the end of June 2026 when she needs to transition back to DGS foster care.
Ideal Home
Skillet would thrive with a bully-breed-savvy family who appreciates her goofy charm — either as the only dog or with a confident, well-matched canine buddy who enjoys her brand of rough and tumble play. She hasn’t lived with children before, but because Skillet greets life at approximately 110 mph, a home with older kids would be the best fit. Skillet views cats as play toys and is not compatible in a home with small fluffy prey.
Ongoing Health
Skillet recently had TPLO surgery and has recovered like a champ.
Training & Support
Skillet comes with some excellent starter-pack features: she’s house-trained, crate-trained, and has solid foundational obedience. She knows all her basic commands and loves to play. Her play style is enthusiastic, physical, and not exactly subtle. She squeals in happiness when she plays with her pet rock, her favorite game is tug, and her zoomies are epic.
