Loki is a 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix who currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued from the woods with his mother and siblings during a Texas freeze. Loki is the fearless ringleader of his litter, always the first to explore new things and announce his presence with gusto. He's brave, bold, and entertaining, approaching life with confidence and a sense of adventure. Loki is an expert climber and loves to play keep-away with his toys, often waking his siblings for playtime. He's a potty-trained puppy who is beginning to settle into an incredible companion. While he can be a little hesitant with new experiences, he quickly overcomes it. Loki loves food and will always make sure he gets his share! Despite his boundless energy, he has an incredibly sweet side and loves to snuggle after a day of adventures. He's good with people, other dogs, and has greeted children positively. He has also spent time in a crate and does well.
Ideal Home
We prefer homes that already have another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor and guide Loki. If you don't currently have a dog, we'd love to hear your plan for continued socialization and training. Because Loki is still a young dog, we also prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned.
Training & Support
Loki is potty trained but may have a few accidents as he adjusts to a new home and routine. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization is important for Loki's development, including safe experiences with new people, places, sounds, and friendly dogs.
