Rio is a beautiful young Shepherd mix, estimated to be born around May 1, 2025, weighing about 30 pounds and growing into her lean, athletic build. We expect Rio to be a medium-sized dog when fully grown! Rescued from an abandoned home in Texas, this sweet girl has shown resilience, friendliness, and a gentle spirit that will make her a wonderful companion. She's a quick learner, working on ringing a bell to let her fosters know when she needs to go outside. Rio is great with other dogs and would love a canine companion to play and explore with, though that’s not a requirement. She has been gentle and friendly with children and is learning her leash manners. While Rio can be a bit reserved at first, she’s blossoming more every day and showing her affectionate, loyal personality. Her foster family describes her as super smart, eager to please, and full of potential — the kind of pup who will thrive with love and a family excited to keep her learning and growing. Rio will make a wonderful companion for an active person or family looking for a bright, loving dog to share life’s adventures with.
