Meet Frankie, a gentle soul with a big heart who's ready for his second chance! This 2.5-year-old, 70-pound neutered male American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull mix is a quiet, tender-hearted pup who may seem shy at first, but once he feels safe, his sweet and affectionate personality shines through. He isn't demanding of attention; instead, he quietly seeks comfort by simply being near someone he trusts. Frankie was found tied up with his sister, but he has been slowly learning that the world can be kind and that humans are worth trusting.
Ideal Home
Frankie would do best in a quieter household with a predictable routine to help him feel secure. He has done well with other large dogs and would likely thrive with a calm canine companion. Given his gentle nature, his foster believes he would do well in a calm home with older kids who understand how to respect his boundaries. A securely fenced yard is a must, as Frankie is an escape artist who has been known to climb fences.
Ongoing Health
Frankie is neutered and up to date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Frankie is still a bit green on leash and is afraid of it, sometimes freezing or "pancaking." He is house-trained and does well when left alone with free reign of a room. He is learning to wait his turn for treats and already understands simple cues like "no" and "food." He finds new doorways or thresholds intimidating but is gaining confidence.
