Sentry is a happy and affectionate 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix who currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued with his mother, Wanda, and his siblings from a rural dumping area and has since been raised in a loving foster home. Sentry is a bundle of joy, always eager for cuddles, playtime, and walks. He loves people, other dogs, and life in general, greeting everyone with enthusiasm. He is potty trained and is growing into a confident, affectionate, and well-rounded dog. Sentry is outgoing and friendly, always ready to make new friends and be included in activities. He has a history of doing well with children and enjoys playing with other dogs.
Ideal Home
Sentry would thrive in a home that can provide consistent positive reinforcement, socialization, and continued training. We prefer homes with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor him, but we are open to homes without other pets if you have a proactive plan for continued socialization, such as training classes or playdates. Due to his age, homes where someone is not routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time are preferred.
Ongoing Health
Sentry is a young, developing dog. Ongoing positive reinforcement and consistency will help him mature into an exceptional adult dog.
Training & Support
Sentry is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn. Continued socialization is crucial for his development. We recommend ongoing positive reinforcement and consistency to help him thrive and build confidence.
