Your Woodland Adventure Buddy with a Snuggly Side
Dewey is a smart and active Carolina Dog mix, around 2 years old and weighing 45-50 pounds. He's the perfect companion for someone who loves the outdoors and enjoys quiet mornings with a loyal friend. Dewey excels at puzzle toys, treat-based games, and especially loves exploring and sniffing on long walks or hikes. He's also quite joyful in the snow! While initially unsure about toys, he now enjoys a good game of tug and cherishes his squeaky ball. Dewey thrives on routine and structure, showing good manners like waiting patiently at the door, settling well in his crate, and enjoying his designated mat. He's affectionate, loyal, and forms strong bonds with his people.
Ideal Home
Dewey would thrive with an experienced and confident adopter who can provide a calm, structured environment. He would do best in a home without young children and where he can have a yard for enrichment and sniffing.
Ongoing Health
Dewey is up-to-date on vaccinations and microchipped.
Training & Support
Dewey experiences leash reactivity towards dogs, people, and bicycles. While he is improving with positive reinforcement training, his adopter must be committed to continuing this training and practicing mindful threshold management. He is food motivated and intelligent, making him a great candidate for continued training.
