Hero is proof that courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes, it looks like a shy little dog taking one small step forward at a time. When Hero first arrived, the world felt like a very big and scary place. New people, new experiences, and everyday life were overwhelming for this sweet Maltipoo. But with patience, encouragement, and the support of caring staff and volunteers, Hero has been discovering that life can be full of good things. Today, Hero enjoys playing with other dogs, exploring his surroundings, and showing off his growing confidence. He's even known to get the zoomies and engage in playful wrestling matches with his canine friends. Watching him blossom has been one of the most rewarding transformations we've seen.
Ideal Home
Hero requires a home with another confident, playful dog who enjoys active play, running, wrestling, and sharing adventures. Having a canine companion helps Hero feel secure, provides reassurance in new situations, and encourages him to continue building confidence. He would do best in a home with no young children where his boundaries can be respected and he can continue gaining confidence in a calm, predictable environment. He also requires a securely fenced yard where he can safely explore, play, and enjoy time with his canine companion.
Ongoing Health
Hero has no known ongoing health conditions or procedures mentioned.
Training & Support
Hero is still a work in progress and will need an experienced, patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. Many dogs have had limited prior socialization and may need time, patience, and support as they adjust to home life. Skills such as house training, leash walking, and handling may require continued practice. Progress will vary by individual dog.
