Reagan is a one-year-old, 105-pound Anatolian Shepherd who came to us from a hoarding situation involving over 40 dogs. While the dogs were fed and kept reasonably clean, the elderly owners were overwhelmed, and the dogs missed out on essential socialization and everyday home life. Reagan, however, has navigated this challenging start with a surprisingly good attitude and is the most confident dog from the entire group.
Even though he's ahead of the curve, Reagan is still learning about household routines, strange noises, and the many peculiar inventions humans consider normal. He enjoys people, seeks attention, and is more eager to engage than we anticipated for a dog with his background. Reagan is not a shut-down dog and doesn't require extensive rehabilitative training in the traditional sense. He is a young, under-socialized giant breed dog who needs a patient, structured, and sensible adopter. He has the temperament to become a well-adjusted house dog and is well on his way. He's sweet, friendly, and clearly motivated to learn.
Ideal Home
Reagan would thrive in a home with a confident, friendly dog who can offer him a good example. He is good with other dogs and fine with cats. Due to his size and ongoing learning, we recommend a home with children over 10. As he will easily exceed 100 pounds when fully grown, his adopter must be prepared for the presence of a large livestock guardian breed with a strong personality and independent judgment. A securely fenced yard is a must.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions were mentioned.
Training & Support
Reagan is still learning about life as a house dog and requires patience and consistency.
