Hello, I'm Teague, a lively and affectionate year-old black Lab-Hound mix. My combination of the loyal Lab and the keen-nosed Hound gives me a unique blend of intelligence, playfulness, and a love for exploration. I am brimming with youthful energy and curiosity. I have a friendly and outgoing nature, always ready for playtime or an adventure. My Hound heritage gives me a love for sniffing out new experiences, and my Lab side brings a joyous, loving spirit. My coat is sleek, shiny, and black, with a hint of the Hound's grace in my stance. My ears are a bit long, typical of Hounds, and my eyes are bright and eager, reflecting my enthusiastic personality. I enjoy long walks where I can explore new scents and sights. I love playing fetch, tug-of-war, and exploring new environments. After a day of adventure, I'm all about snuggling up for some affectionate downtime. I am a quick learner, thanks to my intelligent lineage. I've already started mastering basic commands and am always eager for the next challenge. Treats and praise are the way to my heart and attention during training sessions. I am sociable and enjoy the company of humans. My playful and gentle demeanor makes me a great companion for adult families or individuals looking for a loyal friend.
Ideal Home
I need a home without any other dogs or children.
Ongoing Health
All vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip are included in the adoption fee. If the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing. If the dog is older than 6 months and not yet altered, we will schedule ASAP (normally within 30 days) at our clinic. We also provide as an incentive a $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes. Adoption also includes lifetime support of the rescue. Housetraining with rescues is sometimes a work in progress and even if a dog is 100% in a foster's home, it should be expected there will be an adjustment period as a dog adapts to a new environment. This is even more true if the dog has not by chance had their altering appointment at time of adoption. We highly recommend some form of 2-week shutdown and decompression for dogs going to a new home for best results.

Transporation
Teague is available in conjunction with one of our rescue partners down towards NYC. Our adoption area is within a several hour radius of us in Rochester, NY (Canada within 3 hours IS allowed, except that young puppies need to be old enough to have gotten their rabies vaccination to cross the border - usually around 16 weeks). We would accept a wider range of distance of applicants for him, especially down in that direction.
