Meet Spike!
This spirited two-year-old German Shepherd mix is a sight to behold with his striking black coat, bright white chest patch, and intelligent eyes that seem to take in everything with curiosity. Weighing around 50 pounds, Spike is a medium-sized boy who perfectly blends athletic energy with a deeply devoted heart. He’s a true sweetheart who believes he’s a lap dog, and he’ll gently snuggle into your lap for some much-needed belly rubs. His favorite toys are anything that squeaks, and he’ll proudly parade his treasures around after a fun game of fetch! Spike is also a water-loving enthusiast who enjoys a good swim, making him an ideal companion for an active person who loves hiking, running, or spending weekends outdoors.
When Spike first arrived, he was quite timid and easily startled. He’s made incredible progress over the past year and a half, growing in confidence and now eagerly seeks affection and initiates play. While he might still bark at new people out of uncertainty, he recovers quickly and looks to his humans for reassurance.
Ideal Home
Spike would do best in a home with a patient, experienced pet parent who can offer a loving environment with steady guidance and leadership. A fenced yard is a must. He has lived peacefully with female dogs but can be a bit selective, so slow and thoughtful introductions are recommended.

Spike is neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous family!
Training & Support
Spike is crate-trained and house-trained. He knows commands such as "sit," "wait," "crate," "out," and "no," and he comes when called. He responds well to positive reinforcement and structure. He can get uneasy with loud sirens and may whimper if he sees his people cuddling another dog, but with patience and reassurance, he continues to gain confidence.
