MONROE

Monroe is a sweet girl who is a bit shy and anxious. She would do best in a quiet, predictable home where she can decompress and build trust at her own pace. Monroe has shown she can be a good walking buddy and enjoys sniffs and interesting sights. Once she settles in, she's likely to become a very playful, high-energy dog! Her ideal adopter will have experience with active dogs and understanding anxious pups, using positive reinforcement to help her build confidence.

Ideal Home

Monroe would thrive in a quiet, predictable home environment where she can have her own space to decompress. She would do well as an only dog or with a respectful, patient dog who understands boundaries. Any resident dogs must meet Monroe before adoption. Monroe can live with children 13 and up, but all interactions must be actively supervised.

Ongoing Health

Monroe's health is up to date with routine care. She has a double coat that may take up to a year to fully grow back if it was shaved, and some spots may not grow back completely.

Training & Support

Monroe will need positive reinforcement training to help her bond with her new family and build confidence. She has demonstrated solid loose-leash walking skills. It's important to let Monroe set the pace for interactions and not to force attention on her, as she can be conflicted during play and needs time to build trust. Understanding dog body language will be crucial for her success.
