Meet Venus, a petite 1-year-old pocket pit bull with soft tan fur, short legs, and a huge heart. Weighing 29 pounds, she is the perfect size for snuggles and is expected to remain small.

Venus spent her first week in rescue receiving around-the-clock hospital care, including IV fluids, antibiotics, and pain medication, after suffering several broken ribs. Her rescuers suspect she may have escaped a life as a bait dog, and original rescue photos are available to interested adopters.

Ideal Home

Venus wants to be the only dog in the home and is not comfortable with cats. She is seeking a home focused on human companionship.

Ongoing Health

Venus is currently receiving slow-kill heartworm treatment. She has recovered from several broken ribs.
