Abel

Abel is a handsome male terrier mix who came into foster care in August 2023. He settled in right away and was happy to make himself at home! Abel's excited hops are a joy to watch, and his favorite trick is to SPIN! He is a smart boy who knows "sit" and "spin," and he's a great snuggle bug who loves a good butt scratch. Abel is already potty trained and enjoys playing. He's a fantastic loose leash walker and shows no reactivity to other dogs. He also absolutely loves the cold weather! Abel is comfortable being left alone for extended periods, as his foster parents have left him for up to 8 hours with no issues. He's nondestructive and typically spends his alone time sleeping. While Abel hasn't had a formal playdate, he happily interacts with dogs on neighboring properties, wagging his tail and barking. He also coexists peacefully with chickens in his foster yard. Abel is a loyal friend who can be a little shy with new people, but he warms up quickly with treats and butt scratches. Once he considers you a friend, it's for life!

Abel would love a home where he can continue to share his love and loyalty. He's comfortable with other dogs and chickens.

Training & Support

Abel is house-trained and a great loose-leash walker. He is smart but can be a little stubborn sometimes. He needs a slow and steady approach when meeting new people, but he is easily won over with treats and butt scratches.
