Meet Vanna, an approximately 4-year-old German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her personality! Vanna is a sweet and affectionate "velcro dog" who truly thrives when she's by her favorite humans' side. She's playful and enjoys a good game of fetch or a nice walk, and she's a great car rider, making her an ideal adventure buddy! Vanna has medium energy levels and would do best in an active home that can keep up with her zest for life. She's been trusted to free roam in her foster home and is not destructive, as her main goal is simply to be near her people.
Ideal Home
Vanna would do best as the only dog in the home. While she can be playful with very well-matched, larger dogs (around 90 lbs or more) if there are no resources to guard, she is not a fan of smaller dogs. She can sometimes be reactive on leash, so continued training and management will be important. Vanna is reserved with strangers but friendly once she warms up. She may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space.
Ongoing Health
Vanna is spayed and vaccinated. She is still working through some challenges and has experienced significant trauma, leading to some resource guarding issues with food, toys, and people.
Training & Support
Vanna needs continued support with leash manners and is still polishing up her potty training, with occasional accidents. She is crate trained and has a lot of potential for growth with patience, consistency, and understanding.
