Maya

Maya is a 2-year-old, 45-pound bundle of love who is patiently waiting for her forever home. She came to us from another shelter and has been with us since May 5th, 2026, hoping for a second chance at happiness. Maya is a very sweet girl who absolutely adores playing with other dogs and has a history of coexisting peacefully with them. She's made some great doggy friends here at the shelter, so she might just love having a canine sibling in her new home, provided they have a proper introduction.

Ideal Home

Maya is looking for a patient adopter who understands that she can be a bit shy with new people and in unfamiliar surroundings. She’ll need a home where her humans can help her feel secure and confident, allowing her to warm up at her own pace. Because she has slight vision impairments, a gentle and understanding approach will be key to helping her adjust. We recommend a home without young children and without cats. All family members should meet Maya before adoption to ensure everyone is a good match.

Ongoing Health

Maya is spayed, microchipped, and is up-to-date on all vaccinations and preventatives.

Training & Support

Maya may take a little time to adjust to new people and environments. Providing her with gentle guidance and patience will help her build trust and confidence as she settles in.

Maya is currently located at our Lansing shelter. We can arrange transportation to the Wags adoption center in Grand Rapids for approved adopters.
