Hi, I'm Ash! I'm a loving 6-year-old pit bull mix with a gentle heart and a soft spirit. I was once found scared and hungry, but thankfully, kind people gave me a second chance. Now, I'm learning what it means to feel safe and loved, and my true personality is starting to shine through. I'm affectionate, calm, and love to be close to my people, whether that's cuddling on the couch, going for relaxed walks, or simply being included in whatever you're doing. I also enjoy exploring the yard with my dog friends and discovering new scents. I'm crate-free in my foster home and have been doing really well with house training and behavior; I'm not destructive and have settled into home life beautifully. I'm also leash-trained and enjoy walks, though I'm still polishing up my skills and learning more commands.
Ideal Home
I'd thrive in a calm, laid-back environment with a family or person (1-3 people would be perfect). A home with a fenced yard where I can safely relax and explore would be wonderful. I'd do best with someone patient who will continue helping me build confidence and learn commands, in a loving environment where I can be part of the family. A cat-free home would be best for me, as I may have a higher prey drive and haven't been fully tested with cats. I may do fine with respectful kids, though I haven't had much experience with them yet.
Ongoing Health
I am currently heartworm positive, but I'm already on treatment and getting stronger every day. I'm on my way to feeling even better soon! All my vetting, including spay, microchip, and vaccines, is up to date.
Training & Support
I'm doing well with house training and behavior and am not destructive. I'm leash-trained and enjoy walks, though I'm still polishing up my skills and learning more commands.
